This book is good book for children ages 2-3 years old. The book teaches children in what order they should wash their hands. The book can also be song to the tune of row, row, row your boat.
The book features short sentence and large areas where the writing is written so has not confuse text from pictures. The pictures are very colourful and have children showing the task of washing hands. The pictures also include animals such as cats and dogs, which can let children relate to the book if they also have pets at home.
Some vocabulary can be learned from this as there may be words that are not used in everyday conventions. It also teaches children motor skills by turn pages from the number cardboard book pages. The book also presents some rhythmizing in the text which promotes phonologic awareness.
To help your child understand the materials better you can stop and ask questions about the book to them. One of the places you can ask questions on is page 3-4, where you can ask what is on the duck’s back ? (it is soap by the way). Another question that can be asked is what you think that that child is doing in the picture? and that can be ask on any page. In conclusion, this book is well round and is a fun way to teach your child to wash their hands and to improve their reading skills. While providing colourful pictures and simple sentences.
